Tonal & Texture Fits

They say good artists copy and great artists steal, so here is my version of telling you exactly how the sausage is made. I keep a moodboard of outfit ideas and overall lifestyle inspiration on my Tumblr (yes it still exists). The second image above is pulled straight from this archive and as you can see, I just robbed the guy on the right of his fit. Who wore it better? You tell me.
The special ingredient here lies on the textures used to create a nice dense visual. The inspiration photo gave me the idea for this tonal outfit featuring a denim on denim base. What I did was add texture underneath via the thermal and texture in the pant. The nice thin whale corduroy adds even more interest and using the knit beanie to bring that out is seldom a thing people think about. Well besides lunatics like me of course.
Here is the breakdown. I promise I will start adding links soon but a lot of my wardrobe is vintage and not really shop-able via the interweb.
Beanie: Empire from my Zumiez store manager days (Zumiez kid at heart 4Life)
Thermal: Galaxy from the hood stores but interestingly enough available on Amazon: https://amzn.to/3OamBsz. As an Amazon associate I earn from qualifying purchases.
Under Denim: Tommy Hilfiger. Also like 10 years old, this shirt is a proper westen shirt with yokes and all.
Outer Denim: Lands End from JC Penny from at least 7 years ago.
Corduroy Pants: Gap from the 2000s. Thrifted at Unique in Paterson last month.
Boots: Steve Madden. Moto Chelsae is a thing.
Stay layered my friends. Not only does it keep you warm, but allows you to flex on em a bit. Have an amazing week. Kirk Out.
